Best pickup?

Of all the players the Broncos have signed this offseason, one of my favorites is backup QB Chris Simms. I actually campaigned for the Broncos to sign him last year. Say what you want about his skills, which IMO cannot yet be fully evaluated. What no one can question is his toughness. If you don't know the story, here's a BroncoTalk article explaining why. Bottom line, football is all about depth and Simms is a much better backup than Patrick Ramsey.

I tend to agree. Now they can play Simms when Cutler refuses.

I am just unable to express the full amount of my relief that Cutler has a backup (Ramsey is pathetic)... now if he gets injured (have we fired our conditioning coach yet?) at least I have hope...
Can't wait to see him play.

UGGH!! I spent years watching Simms destroy the Texas Longhorns, which for an Oklahoma State University alumn was fantastic. The biggest problem with Simms is, when he was the starter at Texas, he was the second best quarterback on the field, Major Applewhite was much better. That being said, Simms is in the big leagues and Major is on the sidelines coaching. I am a non-beliver in Simms until proven otherwise.
